About Us

We are the "Pompano Bros", Grayson and Bennett Tangerman.  We are two brothers from Birmingham, AL that have been coming to the 30A area since we were in our mom's belly.  Our love for fishing started out with family friends of our parents surf fishing on Spring and Fall breaks.  We were always fascinated with fishing but our dad was not an outdoorsman to say the least.

Well, after a while dad caved in and took us to Bass Pro for Father's Day and said "Boys lets figure this fishing thing out".  We were ecstatic.  We got a single 8' Penn Fierce IV combo and some basic tackle.  Since that day, our dad himself has been bittin by the fishing bug and loves it just as much as we do.

We started getting interested in tying rigs after seeing some YouTubers doing it.  (Shout out to Blaine at Panhandle Salt).  Dad built a basic rigging board and got some supplies and we started making rigs.  We were very new to all of this and had to really learn how to perfect our knots and began tinkering around with floats, beads, dropper lengths, etc on our trips down to catch Pompano and really anything else we could get to bite.

After a while we had the crazy idea to try to make a batch of rigs to see if we could get some tackle stores on 30A to carry them.  Low and behold, one of our favorite stores, Yellowfin Ocean Sports in WaterColor agreed to buy our first batch off of us to see if they could sell them.

The rest they say is history.

We strive to make high-quality hand-tied rigs with the most premium components that are out there.  We have a huge passion for fishing and after saving some of our money at our parents behest, we use what's left over to experiment with fishing gear and tackle to improve as fishermen.
